Black Notice by Patricia Cornwell — 440 pages

I avoided reading much by Ms. Cornwell in past years because of her vivid descriptions of autopsies. Her character, Kay Scarpetta, is a world renowned medical examiner. I’ve changed my opinion and have enjoyed the last couple of books I’ve read. In this one, her beloved husband has been dead for about a year and she is not dealing well with it. So, in addition to a really interesting crime story, there is quite a bit of insight into Kay’s mind and heart. I would recommend not reading books by Patricia Cornwell while eating a meal…
