Nomadland by Jessica Bruder — 251 pages

This was an extraordinary read. I had heard a bit about modern day nomads who live in their cars/rv’s/ vans. The author lived out of a vehicle for a time while getting to know a cross section of these modern day gypsies. Shockingly, most of these folks are retirement age and have worked their whole lives. Due to medical expenses, tough luck and a variety of other circumstances, there are a lot of 60+ Americans who have been left out of the dream. I was appalled that we have so many citizens with no safety net and needing to take to the road to survive.
